eat shit

"we are what we eat" we use to tell kids that.... too bad we weren't more serious about that notion. kids are so beautiful, pure, naturally healthy, and we as a society start teaching them very young that what they put in their bodies doesn't matter.... why cant we subsidize health food and make it cheaper for families to feed their kids.... instead we subsidize the industries that make all the shit that goes into the school lunches, 99 cent menu's, lunchables.. that are everywhere, which are killing our people... somewhere along the way we have lost the word "preventative" from our vocabularies or practices and damn it if were going to let the kids have a chance at it... i know, a little harsh for a little girl who loves her ice cream!!

Gay Marriage, the Bible, and the Constitution

On the Proper Way to Address a Bible-Waving Republican State Senator from Maryland

By CounterPunch News Service

On Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at the Maryland state legislature, during a hearing in Annapolis on the proposed Constitutional Amendment to prohibit gay marriage, Jamie Raskin, professor of law at American University, was requested to testify. At the end of his testimony, Republican state senator Nancy Jacobs said: "Mr. Raskin, my Bible says marriage is only between a man and a woman. What do you have to say about that?" Raskin replied: "Senator, when you took your oath of office, you placed your hand on the Bible and swore to uphold the Constitution. You did not place your hand on the Constitution and swear to uphold the Bible."........The room erupted into applause.
