hair do's

ever since i can remember my hair life has been one of growing and cutting. i guess like the rest of my lifes journey, my hair has not found its permanence:) but i think i may be narrowing it down as well. this time, in an attempt to grow it long once again, and with no reasons to have to cut the stuff, i just became uncomfortable with it.. not confident etc... not to mention it was not growing in all of the places, as it should:(:) i like it short for sure, but have always wanted to wear it long for a while and i never could or would as a kid. alas i think the day has come where i have given up on that dream and settled down with the hair, maybe that will spill over into my life in other places?? enjoy the cut progression:)

paul payne

i went to my uncle pauls for thanksgiving and it was great to see him even though the circumstances are tough right now.
when i was 23, before coaching at texas, i went to live with paul in pensacola for 4 months... we immediately became friends more so than relatives. he is a mixture of brother and dad to me. paul has always lived a very young, active and fun life. in 1996 i moved back to pensacola for a year and did a lot of sailing and chasing women with paul. he recently survived a bout with throat cancer to now finds himself in a battle with an in-operable brain tumor. he is a fighter and if anyone can get through this he will. this was my first time to be around a friend who is feasible terminal and it was quite a challenge to stay present and peaceful. i had just seen the movie "what the bleep do we know" and we had some talks about quantum physics and his role in keeping his energy up and positive. many lessons were learned for sure on his trip but mostly a renewed love for this man, my friend. i cried for the first time in years driving away from his house...bittersweet.

shuffle em..

so i would love to get some of my political friends and or all friends/family, take on the democratic tidal wave that happend this week. as im sure you know im joyful.. at least at the obvious outcry for change. i hope we are getting wiser as people as to who makes a good leader and who does not. i have been saying for years, " it may have more to it than speaking the people's language, with cute words like nucular??" i am wary that the democrats will not step up to the plate and make a difference... politics as a whole seem to be going down the drain. right on, to the independents that won out there!!
